Sharjah city is
the largest city and seat of government of the emirate of Sharjah, the
third largest of the United Arab Emirates, situated on the northern
coast of the Persian Gulf.
The city itself is the third largest in the
UAE, but also the most populous, with over 800,000 residents, and is a
unique mix of traditional Islamic buildings, including many elegant
mosques, and post-millennium high rise skyscrapers.
