Testing and Measurement in West Malling, Kent
Today's testing and measurement website hotspot is West Malling, in Kent, the home of an RAF air base that also served for a time as Maidstone Airport. After serving as a 'landing ground' in World War One, the airfield became RAF West Malling in 1940 and featured heavily in the Battle of Britain.
After the RAF left in 1969, the airfield continued in private hands for some years but is now being developed into a residential and commercial village, although remnants of its aviation history are still apparent.
