Today's testing and measurement website hotspot is Jakarta. The capital of Indonesia has a population of more than ten million people, making it the largest city in southeast Asia. A coastal city, that includes over a thousand islands in its administration area, Jakarta sits on the north coast of the main island of Java, overlooking the Java sea.
Forty percent of the city is actually below sea level, and the city is sinking quite quickly - at 5-10 cm per year, and up to 20 cm per year in some northern parts.
The city has a hot and humid climate, with average maximum temperatures above 30 deg C every month of the year, and annual rainfall over 1.7 metres (67 inches).
