Testing and Measurement in Lagos, Nigeria

Today's testing and measurement website hotspot is Lagos. Often assumed to be the capital of Nigeria (actually, Abuja is), Lagos is a port city with a rapidly growing population in excess of 8 million people.

Originally built on a series of islands separated by creeks within Lagos lagoon, the modern city is protected from the Atlantic by sand spits extending over 100km along the coast.

Founded by Portuguese colonists, Lagos is Portuguese for 'lakes', which could be the origin of its name, although there is also a Lagos in Portugal.
